The Habibia Children's Home Project

Being no strangers to working with the Habibia Children’s Home, The Habibia Project started out as a youth month initiative. But we soon realized that there was so much more we needed to do to make The Home a comfortable space for the girls. The project then evolved into a fruitful journey to better the lives of the girls at Habibia Children’s Home.

Phase one: This consisted of a brand new computer lab sponsored by Simplified IT Services, giving the girls everything they needed to complete their homework and projects with ease.

Phase two: As part of our 67 minutes for Mandela Day, we decided to spend our time by preparing and sharing a 3 course dinner for all the residents of the Habibia Children’s Home.

Phase three: SITS Gives Back hosted a Karaoke fundraiser, successfully raising over R 27 000 for the Children’s Home. With the funds raised at the event we managed to purchase some new equipment for the home that included, but was not limited to:

A new oven & stove

A microwave

Kettle & toaster 

A fridge &

A new washing machine

Phase four: As part of our Woman’s Day initiative, we honored the girls with a surprise Woman’s Day party, spoiling them with beautiful gifts and treats to make sure they knew just how special they are.  

Phase five: SITS Gives Back hosted a second fundraiser, Walking in a Winter Wonderland which was yet another success that we are truly grateful for. This event was a female only cast, with the theme of empowering our young women as this was during Woman’s Month.  With the money raised, we were able to purchase new beds for all the girls and have the home repainted.

By the end of the 2019 year, we were pleased to have been given the opportunity to work with the Habibia Children’s Home and to see what a big difference our contribution made in the lives of these young girls. To all our contributors, we thank you for all your help and assistance as it would not have been possible without you.

Its moments like these that keep us striving to always doing out utmost best to make a difference.
